This page is dedicated to some selected educational materials I have compiled for my students. Each selection will feature either a video catalog, a downloadable PDF of the material, or both. In some cases, the materials may still be in print and would be available to order or purchase from your local music store.
Daily Warm Up and High Note Exercises – for Euphonium BC and TC, and Tuba
The Eclipse – Self Instructor for Baritone Bass Clef – by Paul Deville
This old instructional text was part of a series produced by Carl Fischer and is no longer in print. This particular book was gifted to me and I decided to try out some of the exercises on my circa 1921-22 Conn, 5-piston double-bell euphonium. Check out my YouTube channel for demos of this 100+year old book on a cool 100+ year old euphonium!
Rubank Supplementary Studies for Trombone – by R. M. Endresen
This book is to be used with or to follow any method. It contains a good variety of different etudes to challenge and further studies in regards to technique and musicality. The etudes are written in many different meters, keys, keys with key changes, and styles. Etudes at the beginning of the book are geared more towards the elementary level player, but get more challenging as the book progresses.
Thirty Etudes in the Bass and Tenor Clefs – by David Uber
An excellent set of 30 Etudes written in both bass and tenor clef, that challenges players with interesting musical ideas while building fluidity in two different clefs. Each etude is presented in Bass Clef and Tenor Clef on opposing pages. The etudes encompass several different musical styles.
