Austrian Traditional Schnellpolka, Arranged by Sarah Houle, 2023 for the Schell’s Hobo Band: 2 Clarinets, 3 Trumpets, 2 Trombones, Baritone BC and TC, Tuba, Drums.
This fun and short little number has 3 sections to it, with the melody getting passed along between the instrument sections. A flashy introduction is followed up by the clarinet melody, which is then restated by the trumpets. There is a call and response feel in the B section from low brass to high brass. Finally, in the Trio, the trumpets bring on the bell tones! The ending is a short little flashback to the flashy introduction.
