After You’ve Gone, by Creamer and Layton, arranged for Unaccompanied Trombone by Sarah Houle, 2016.
This easy, jazzy piece goes through a couple of interesting mood shifts. Try to bring out the differences in the two contrasting sections: the beginning and end are the similar characters of darkness verging on sadness and melancholy. The middle section is a little more active, picking up with a bit of a bounce. Techniques used in this etude are slide vibrato and jaw vibrato, lip trills, glissandi, scoops into and up from notes, lip flips, and various jazz articulations.
